TACKLE TWILL CUT WORK AND EMBROIDERED APPAREL
Who Uses Tackle Twill?Tackle Twill is the
preferred choice in apparel used by both professional sports teams and
school athletic organizations. Most good quality jerseys and uniforms.
Look closely at what your favorite football, baseball, or hockey player is
wearing on the field. His or her garment has been embellished with
personalized tackle twill names and numbers which are then custom
embroidered. Many banners used at corporate events and charity
functions also use a combination of tackle twill and embroidery for a
richer look and long term durability.
What is Tackle Twill?Tackle Twill is a technique that uses
numbers, letters or an image base shapes cut from polyester or nylon twill
fabric. The tackle twill appliques are attached to the selected garment or
banner with an adhesive backing that tacks them in place. The edges are
then zigzag stitched and the border is then finished with satin-stitch
embroidery of the same or a contrasting color.
Images such as the
bulldog logo (picture on right) sometimes use a tackle twill base with
embroidered features. This combination reduces the number of embroidery
stitches needed while creating a three-dimensional work of art.
